Affion Crockett - “Headvines” (Drake ‘Headlines’ Parody)
Fcuking hilarious. Feels like it’s been a while since the last all-out-music-video spoof by Affion. Meticulously on-point as always.
-
The Weeknd - “The Knowing” Music Video
Some of the most creative visuals for a song, from an artist on the ‘radar’, I’ve seen in a while. The song serves as the outro for House of Balloons.
-
J. Cole - “Lost Ones” Music Video
Shot in 2008. Such a deep-cutting track. Off Cole World: The Sideline Story—funny how two of the realest tracks on the album are the oldest ones.
-
Rihanna - “We Found Love” [Feat. Calvin Harris] Music Video
Rih-Rih gets in her Requiem for a Dream zone. Such dismal visuals for such an upbeat song, but a very dope video nonetheless.
-
City and Colour - “Weightless” Music Video
“So what is this now, you ask of me;
What makes your pain such an urgency?
Now I want out, so plain to see;
Once again my dear, a brand new tragedy.” -
Frank Ocean - “Thinking About You” Music Video
Frank teams up with High5Collective for the visuals. The track was intended to be a reference track for Bridget Kelly, but you can’t deny the ownership in Frank’s version. The video is dark, and sorta feels like Stanley Kubrick, this is some visionary shit.
-
Jay-Z & Kanye West - “Otis” Music Video
What a fcuking grand old time these two are having. I’m done, I’ll hit you up maña-nahhhh.
-
Drake - “Marvin’s Room”
Visuals for one of the most honest songs Drizzy has ever put out. In the video, he adds a little H-Town screw and one of those mirror-check moments in the club when you know you’re close to being gone. It’s Drake’s blunt honesty and relatable emotion that makes this song so damn good—noone else can do it justice.
